The Tompkins Historical Society is sad to announce the cancellation of the 2020 Freedom Festival and Steam Show. We look forward to seeing you in 2021!
The Tompkins Historical Society Freedom Festival and Steam is our largest event of the year in celebration of our community! Many events will be taking place such as:
Working Steam Engines,Museum Tours, Tractor Pulls, Blacksmith, Loom Weaving Displays, Car Show, Flea Market, Silent Auction, Food Vendors,and so much more!

TRUNK-N-TREAT
October 17th, 2020

Stewart Farm: 10138 Tompkins Road
Trunk -n-Treat for 2020 will be very different than in years past. First off, it will be an all outdoor event. Masks are required and social distancing in practice. Lots of candy!
Trunk-N-Treat is a great family event with many fun activities planned. Bring your kids to trunk and treat and then join us for hot dogs, a bonfire, hayrides, candy, and more!
If you cannot make the Tompkins Freedom 5K Run/Walk in person, but would still like to support the cause, you can complete the Virtual Tompkins Freedom 5K Run/Walk. A virtual race is a race that can be run (or walked) from any location you choose. You can run, jog, or walk on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill, at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. All participants will receive a T-shirt and special prize in the mail! Sign up online for the virtual run.

Christmas Tree Lighting

More information to come. Join us in Downtown Tompkins to sing Christmas carols, then proceed to the museum for hot chocolate and enjoy delicious cookies. We will host our annual Christmas Tree Lighting to celebrate the Christmas season beginning. Everyone is welcome! This is our annual Veteran's Memorial Celebration. The tree is decorated with the names of Veterans from our area, or any Veterans whose names we are able to get. Please email to the website address any names that you would like to have on the tree. Veterans are either from current service or from any military situation.

Tractor Pulls 2020
Sponsored by the Leslie Tractor Club, a part of the TCHS
Tractor Pulls will take place at Tompkins Center the second Saturday of the month, starting May through October, 2020.
Registration begins at 9:00 am and the pulls start at 10:00 am. Concession available.
Held at the Stewart Farm across from the Tompkins Town Hall, 9999 N. Tompkins Road., Rives Junction, MI 49277
